Dutch club VVV-Venlo sign 1-year-old child

A one and a half year old Dutch footballer has shot his way to fame and a 10-year professional contract with his local champion’s division football club.

Baerke van der Meij scored almost a million hits on YouTube after his father Jorg posted a film of the toddler shooting three balls into his toy box last week.
The boy and his family are supporters of the Venlose Voetbal Vereniging, or VVV, football team in the city of Venlo where Baerke’s grandfather once played as a professional.
The toddler joined VVV’s star midfielder Ken Leemans during a training session in De Koel Stadium on Tuesday before being offered the “symbolic” contract.
“The toddler’s favourite position has not yet been determined. However, we can speak of a right-footed player with a very good kicking technique, perseverance and, importantly: football genes via his grandfather,” said a VVV Venlo press release.

Sypnosis “I’ll take my chances” is a tale of love, passion and dance.  Osa Ogiamen is a young Theatre Arts graduate that majored in dance in America and is passionate about it. He hopes to stage a drama called “Drumbeats” and scouts all over for sponsorship together with his Peruvian girlfriend Gisele and they are both hopeful to find it.      He however has to go for his Youth Service Orientation in the rustic village of Ikot Uyai in Cross River State and there meets the enigmatic and beautiful Idara.  Despite their obvious differences the two are drawn together but Idara harbours a dark secret.  She has been selected to be the next High Priestess of Unek, a deity that is worshipped by her people through dance.    Torn between her love for Osa and her duty to obey the call of the deity, Idara must choose and face the greatest battle of all.  Osa finally receives the much awaited funding from Giselle’s father to stage his production which must be entered in a dance festival taking place in Lagos.  The winner of the festival gets a grant of $100,000.00.      In Idara, Osa sees the perfect partner for his drama and decides to substitute Gisele, his previous partner with her, making her (Gisele) a bitter enemy.  In preparation for the production, Idara leaves the village for the big city and starts dance preparation however the calls from the deity and incessant dreams she has of herself dancing and fulfilling her priestly role, haunts her.     This combined with the cries and wails from her family about the imminent disaster and certain death that is sure to befall her should she shirk her duty, succeeds in making her decide to abandon the city, for home. Idara is in a dilemma. IK Osakioduwa hosts BigBrother Africa for the third time.

Mnet's Bigbrother Africa is tagged Bigbrother amplified this year  and will soon kick off as earlier informed.

Well it has been confirmed that the popular radio and TV presenter ,Ik osakioduwa is the one to host the sixth edition of the popular TV reality show that will kick off on May 1st,2011.This will be the third time Ik is  hosting the series.

The Charity Fashion Show Debuts

UK-based Fashion and Entertainment blogger Chantle White has announced she’s putting together ‘The Charity Fashion Show’, an event which will see various designers and artists rally round to support and raise funds for  Precious Pearls Orphanage, a motherless babies’ home located in Lagos, Nigeria.
The event will also showcase music from some of the top Nigerian acts as well as up-comers as designers parade fashion pieces in an exclusive-style event. The evening will consist of present and past Nigerian super models as supported by Isis Models and some designs from J3, Phalps Clothing, Prima Rouge, House of Tpcal, Chantle white collection, CECILI and a few others will then go to auction.
Aside the fashions show, guests will be treated to complimentary drinks under a canopy reception. Another highlight of the show will be the three lucky guests who will win accessories worth N20,000.
The day will also see fashion representatives, socialites and other corporate sponsors come together to mingle, network, unwind and most especially raise funds for the charity.
